About Me

I’m a writer, filmmaker, and culinary storyteller—originally Kurdish from Turkey, now based in Malta.
My creative work interlaces themes of identity, migration, memory, and domestic ritual, often using food as both subject and metaphor.

With a background in fine arts and years of experience as a director and screenwriter in the Turkish film industry, I’ve always viewed storytelling as a way to explore the space where the personal meets the political.
In recent years, I’ve shifted my focus toward writing and researching culinary culture—particularly how food reflects social histories and emotional geographies.

Since relocating to Malta, my kitchen has become both my studio and my stage. I write essays that blend memoir, cultural reflection, and original recipes. Alongside my writing practice, I continue to develop documentary films and a book project centered on multilingual kitchens.

Through my work, I aim to create bridges between cultures—inviting people to better understand and feel one another’s experiences through stories grounded in place, memory, and the sensory world.

I have served as a jury member at various film festivals and provided mentorship to emerging filmmakers at co-production markets.
Over the years, my films and artistic work have been featured at numerous festivals, museums, film industry platforms, and broadcasting networks.
